May Ball

On Wednesday night/Thursday morning I worked at the Sidney Sussex May Ball. It was a nightmare! The Ball itself was lovely, but working wasn't. We started off doing the meal, that was fine, all the students looked sexy and they were all friendly and happy too. I was enjoying this part. The meal went on until about midnight by which time the rest of the students who weren't dining arrived. 2000 of them! I was then sent over to the bbq where for the next 4 hours I served beef steaks followed at 3.30am by bacon (breakfast). It was horrible. I'm sooo glad I only said I'd do one May Ball. I very nearly did the Trinity one, thank God I didn't. I will stick with the normal 3 hour affairs from now on I think. Still, at least I made some extra cash for the Gran Canaria trip. I lost count of the number of times during the Ball that I kept reassuring myself that this would all translate to cocktails on the beach in Gran Canaria, but it was probably 20 million.

Anyway, here is a tree of the same type but I think this one is much less old. It has a bit of the character of the old tree, but only a little. Maybe this is the granddaughter of my lovely tree. Posted by Picasa

They've cut down one of my favourite trees! This used to be a really really old looking tree. I used to love looking at it, it just looked so old, like it was maybe 200 years old. It looked like it was half dead, so that's probably why they had to chop it down. But I'm sad it's gone, I just wish I'd taken a picture of it before this :( Posted by Picasa

University Botanic Gardens. The hot weather has continued over the weekend :) Instead of going to France we decided to stay in Cambridge. It was so hot and also so lovely and sunny. Here are some pictures I took. Posted by Picasa

Hot hot hot!

Today the weather is absolutely beautiful :) Here is my day so far... I woke up just before my alarm at 8am, I had slept soundly for 10 hours! Although I woke up around 5am to the sound of a blackbird making a terrible noise, I wished at that point that one of the cats would get it! I ate my breakfast in the garden as it was so warm, Pam, the next door neighbour came out and spoke to me for a bit, she hopes to get a moving date soon...yay! Soon I will be able to sunbathe in the garden completely naked hehe! When I got to work there was loads to do, but I managed to get everything done so that I could go to lunch early. I spent all of lunch lying on Jesus Green, it was lovely. Then back to work, tidied up one of the rooms that is meant to be dust free but wasn't (is now thanks to me). And now I'm off into town to get something to drink and sit in the sun for a little bit more...La vida es buena :)

Jestem szczęśliwy...corrected :)

A picture of me and Mika. It's a hard job trying to get a picture of him, he always spoils them by putting his hand over his face or something. This is a picture I took about a month ago, it was after our first whole night together awwww blesssss hehe ;)

Today again the weather has been shite, it was pissing it down at lunchtime when I had to go and buy some lunch :( I have been such a busy bee at work, and so far everything seems to be working, so tonight I am a feeling nice and contented.

I read this the other day too http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/5023466.stm
It really made me cross, and as per usual the ultra religious were sticking to boot in too. I feel sorry for those who are gay and live in Russia and so glad I live in lovely, liberal England.
