Boxing day evening....I'm a wee bit drunk! Posted by Picasa

Home

I have spent the last two days at home, not going out at all. It's been great. I've just been pottering about doing little jobs here and there. Today I have a bit more of a major clear out of loads of old paper work. As I write it is piled up all around me. For the rest of today I'm gonna do some more tidying and also probably watch a couple of films, a nice relaxing evening I think.

Tomorrow I have another fairly free day which is nice. Later in the day I'm going to take some pictures of my friend Robjn, not quite sure what the pictures will be of. I'll have to wait and see I guess lol! Maybe I'll be able to put some up here. Talking of which, we took a few pictures on Boxing Day when I was at Gail's house, I'm gonna put them up now.

It's freezing cold too, I'm definately not gonna clean the car today, although it is the most filthy I think it's ever been! Posted by Picasa

It snowed a little during the night, looks lovely this morning. I'm so glad I don't have to work :) Posted by Picasa

Happy Christmas

Yay, it's almost Christmas Day :) I've got all my shopping done, today I just have to wrap them all up. It's such a relief to have got everything done. This year I really have left things until the last minute. Still, now I can relax.

Yesterday I booked a short holiday to Gran Canaria. There was gonna be a few of us go originally, but after in the end it's only gonna be me and Rich. But it's gonna be fab, a week of sun in the middle of January, I can't wait, and not long to wait either.

Tonight I have to work, doing some waitering, I really can't be bothered to do it, buut they are gonna pay me double, more holiday money I guess :)

Happy Christmas!

Busy busy busy

I am being such a busy bee at the moment. From today until Sunday I am working every evening and then I am also doing some work on Sunday daytime! I need to rest, so I am taking Friday off work in the daytime, I have loads of holiday still. I'm still enjoying the work, and it makes it easier when I think that it is all going towards a lovely holiday and hopefully loads of winter sun.

Last week I went to Granada in Spain and stayed with my friend Antonio. I had a fab time and took loads of lovely pics that I'll put up on here over the weekend.

Last night I went to Life (as usual), it goes on until 2am so I don't get into bed much before 3am. Last night was even later though as Rich came to visit and we stayed up talking until about half 3! Today at work I have been knackered and would so like to just go home now and sit in front of the tv. Still, I must keep reminding myself that this is for Gran Canaria :)

The little back path to Michal's house, the times I've tried to make my way down there in the pitch blackness! Posted by Picasa

On wednesday I helped my friend Michal to move house. Here's my car loaded up. The traffic in Cambridge was so bad on this day, I was gone from work for over 2 hours. I'm a naughty boy! Posted by Picasa

Pictures

I have decided to postpone the current module I'm doing in my OU work. I was starting to get behind in the work and the whole thing was beginning to feel like a chore. I'll loose 40% of the fee, which is a bummer. But it's just so nice to be able to read a novel for a change and not feel guilty about it. I'm still gonna go ahead with the Spanish when that starts again in February. But for now I'll just relax :)

Szymon was meant to be coming back to England tonight, but in true Szymon style he got the dates wrong! He now comes back tomorrow, the 5th of November, remember remember...

I took some lovely autumny pictures the other day with my phone, I'll put them here when I work out how to get them from my phone.

Samatha

On Tuesday night I went to a meditation class! It's something that I have wanted to do for ages, but just never seemed to have the time. Anyways, I'm so glad that I did go. I feel better for it, even after just a few days. When we arrived at the course, the woman running the course mentioned a few of the reasons why people meditate. I related to so much that she was saying. I often find that my mind is just full and constantly darting from one thing to another, I want to do everything now, I want everything now and also I find it is easy to start thinking negative thoughts. Meditation is a way to free yourself of these. So, we'll see how it goes. After the class I went round to a friend's and we then went to a club, I had a fab night :)

Work work work

I have been such a busy boy this weekend; I have done 13 hours of extra work. That will be a nice little bit of spending money for me. I can go and buy myself some nice new clothes :)

Doing all this work means I'm missing everything on tv! To rectify this I am having Sky+ installed tomorrow. It lets you record easily without having to faffe arounf with a video, I can then get up to scratch again with EastEnders, Corrie and Hollyoaks......I'm a sad boy ;)

11 more nights until Szymon gets back..............................................................................

Windward

Ohhh, I'm in love. I'm happy, but I hate this feeling of vulnerabilty. The having to rely on another person, all of the turbulence that undoubtably lies ahead etc etc. Still, I shall follow the lines of this Mary Oliver poem, especially where she says a life without love is worthless. I guess if you live your life with love you never know what lies ahead, but you have to follow that path, because you know there's nothing else you can do or would even want to do. The bit of the poem I like the best is right at the end - when you feel the mist on your mouth and sense ahead the embattlement, the long falls plunging and steaming - then row, row for your life toward it.

Anyway, here it is:

West Wind #3
by Mary Oliver

You are young. So you know everything. You leap into the boat and begin rowing. But listen to me. Without fanfare, without embarrassment, without any doubt. I talk directly to your soul. Listen to me. Lift the oars from the water, let your arms rest, and your heart, and heart's little intelligence, and listen to me. There is life without love. It's not worth a bent penny, or a scuffed shoe. It's not worth the body of a dead dog nine days unburied. When you hear, a mile away and still out of sight, the churn of the water as it begins to swirl and roil, fretting around sharp rocks - when you hear that unmistakable pounding - when you feel the mist on your mouth and sense ahead the embattlement, the long falls plunging and steaming - then row, row for your life toward it.

So there you go, it's easy to live your life all planned out, but that's worth shite (or a rotting dead dog)live for love....I sound like Babara Cartland!

Wish me luck ;)

Soy camarero!

I've got an extra job! I'm doing waitering and bar work at the weekends and some evenings to get a little extra money. So far I have only worked one day, but I love it, you get to meet such a wide range of people. It's quite hard work, but the time just zooms by. The money is absolutely shite though :( Because I have to pay the full amout of tax. Still, at leat while I'm earning there I'm not spending money somewhere else. Now I must dash....I have a wedding to see to at 4!

I'm still here ;)

It has been ages again since I wrote here, which is very naughty of me. This weekend I am off to Manchester Pride. I'm looking forward to it, we're gonna stay there until next Tuesday, so it's like a mini holiday really. I'll hopefully take lots of pictures and put them up here. I am so skint at the moment lol! I am gonna have to be really good with my money when I'm in Manchester, which is why I'm about to nip into town now and buy a bottle of vodka and some red bulls so we can drink them in our room before we go out, so I won't have to spend so much once I'm out...how cheap of me :-p
