Dentist

I started getting a tiny bit of toothache over the last couple of days, but last night it was worse so I decided I should phone the dentist this morning so that if I do have an infection I could get some antibiotics before it gets too painfull. I can remember before when I had a similar type of toothache, when I started taking the antibiotics, the pain went in less than a day. So I was very relieve when the dentis said she could see me the same afternoon. So I am now back, and although there was not much sign of an infection, the fact that there was pain there meant she gave me some antibiotics, so hopefully I'll soon be in the clear.

They had a very good x-ray machine there, it's all digital so you see the x-ray picture in real time. I had a good look at mine, it looked a bit like the x-ray of a hand with nail varnish on! Strange lol! The only downside is that it all cost me 35 quid boohoo :(

Sleet

Well, that's Monday morning out of the way. It wasn't too bad actually. I slept really well last night, so I think that helped. Last night we watched The Other Boleyn Girl, it was good and lots of it was filmed in and around Ely Cathedral, and watching it I recognised parts of the cathedral. But at the end, we watched through all the credits and there was no mention of Ely at all :(

Patrick and I also played Scrabble again, and I lost as usual. I don't think I've ever won a game of Scrabble in my whole life, even when playing with people whose first language isn't even English...what a disgrace! lol!

I'm now off into town and think I shall go to the Nero's that's in Heffers' bookshop and have a nice large latte and read some more of my book, only problem is that yet again the weather's horrid, today it's sleet!

Back!

Wow, it's been absolutely ages since I wrote anything here! But I have been quite busy with bits and bobs. But now I seem to have settled down into a more relaxed routine, hence I think I am finding time to write here again.

I had 17 days in Gran Canaria over Christmas, it was lovely and the weather was really nice, it felt like summer here the whole time. It was very expensive though, the exchange rate was rubbish 1 euro to 1 pound! So I ended up spending loads of money and also of worrying all the time of how much money I was spending. The holiday was good though because it taught me that more is in fact less when it comes to the amount of time you are away. I'd always thought that the longer I could possible stay in Gran Canaria was the best thing to do, but after 17 days there I don't feel the same. I think the ideal now will be no more than 1 week away, but have more spending money. At the end of the 17 days I just couldn't wait to get home.

It's been about 5 weeks since I came back and I am now forbidding myself from even looking at flights until at least the end of March lol!

More Christmas dinners...

Tonight I am at St Edmund's College doing their 2nd Christmas Dinner, I was there last night doing their 1st one, and then on Wednesday night I was at Clare Hall and they had a slightly belated Thanksgiving meal, which to me was similar to our Christmas meal, so it's not even December yet but I've already had 3 Christmas dinner! It's a good job I like turkey!

The Boiler!!!!

My boiler has packed in! Typical just as the weather went cold. It happened on Thursday night. I thought it was making a louder noise than normal when I went to bed on Wednesday, when I woke up on Thursday morning it was cold! I spent an hour trying to get through to someone to fix it and in the end signed up to boiler insurance with Npower, but no one will be able to come out until Monday! I bought a little fan heater and I'm using that at the moment. It's gonna cost £180, but hopefully he will be able to repair it, otherwise it's lots more for a whole new boiler :( Oh well!

I'm Back!

Well, that was a very quick 10 days! Another holiday whizzed by. It was fab though, Gran Canaria never disappoints. We actually started the holiday early by going to London on Thursday night, straight after I finished work :) We booked the Easy Hotel in Victoria, where we'd been a few weeks earlier. It was funny when we arrived because we had a picture of Jackie Stallone on front of out tickets. Tim asked the receptionist (a lovely Columbian lady) what she thought of the picture. And guess what, she thought it was me! I said to Tim, what a perfect start to the holiday :) He then went on to pretend he was from Santa Monica, Jackie's home! That night we went to some clubs in Vauxhall, including Rudeboiz, with it's legendary 'Scally Ally', more to Tim's liking than mine I must admit ;) Before that we went to South Central. It's a nice pub, but part of it was being used as a cinema...a porn cinema! I've never seen porn on such a large screen, it was almost overwhelming! I couldn't stop laughing. And of course, no chance of Haagen Daas or pop corn, just tutti frutti lube. How wonderful ;-)

Great Yarmouth

Before it gets to the end of October, here's the last of my pics of me and Florent when we went on a day trip to Great Yarmouth (his idea) this September. It was quite nice really, but I think Felixstowe is a million times nicer.

Pics from Lake District

Here are some pictures I took with my phone from when we went to the Lake District, there was me, Antonio, Florent, Michal and Grzegorz. It must have been the middle of September, but it was a lovely warm day. I had to do loads of driving though. Was fun and we still managed to go partying in Manchester later that night, although I did need to have a little disco lol!

p.s. the pics are in the wrong order!

Wet

When I went out on Saturday night, as I wrote the other day, I got so drunk, so drunk in fact that I lost my keys and didn't find out until the next day. It was a pain as I only had one copy of the key to my bike lock at Cambridge station :(

Anyway, I was sure that I must have left them at the Rose and Crown, so last night after work I went there, and as I was walking I noticed it get darker and darker. Well, when I got there I was I was quite surprised that there were quite a lot of people there (it was 6.15), so I was a bit embarrassed to say about my keys. But anyway they did have them :) I was so relieved. As I left the pub (I was tempted to have a drink to celebrate, but I was good, 6.15 is far too early!) it started to really pour with rain, by the time I got to the train station I was soaked to the skin! Then 15 mins later when I was in Ely I had to cycle through even more rain! I was so drenched it was funny, I quite liked it. It was so lovely to get back to my lovely cozy warm house ahhh :)

Rose and Crown

This weekend my friend Adam came to visit. Originally he was gonna get to me in the early afternoon, but his car went wrong, the gearbox broke:( So he had to face the delight of getting to Cambridge from London on the train at the weekend. For the past god knows how mant months it's been impossible to go direct between Cambridge and London, you have to change trains and get buses, it's an absolute nightmare and it's been going on for much too long I think. He arrived at 7.30pm! I was a very good boy though and ran him a nice hot bath. We got a taxi to Ely station just after 9 and as I was feeling lazy we got a taxi from Cambridge station to The Fleur...it cost £7! for a 5 min journey. We had a lovely few hours in the Fleur, it's completly different to how it used to be, more like a wine bar thingy now, less mad and more relaxed than I remember it being before. When we left we were both well pissed lol! We went to the Rose and Crown, I can't remember much in there, although I can remember seeing a couple who had once messaged me on gaydar (and sent me naughty pics), and I'm my drunken state saying they had nice cocks lol! Well, it's better than sayin they didn't have nice cocks I guess. It stayed open until 4am! By this time I had asked someone if we could crash at their house, they must've been polite and said yes. What a terrible state I must have been in lol! Was a good night though, but I lost my keys!

Needless to say, they next day I felt like shit!

The leaves are back.

Well, on Tuesday it absolutely poured with rain, and it brought down with it as many leaves as I'd cleared at the weekend! But because of the rain, the grass underneath is starting to look nice now. Here's what the garden looked like this morning, nice and autumnal.
