Pictures

I have decided to postpone the current module I'm doing in my OU work. I was starting to get behind in the work and the whole thing was beginning to feel like a chore. I'll loose 40% of the fee, which is a bummer. But it's just so nice to be able to read a novel for a change and not feel guilty about it. I'm still gonna go ahead with the Spanish when that starts again in February. But for now I'll just relax :)

Szymon was meant to be coming back to England tonight, but in true Szymon style he got the dates wrong! He now comes back tomorrow, the 5th of November, remember remember...

I took some lovely autumny pictures the other day with my phone, I'll put them here when I work out how to get them from my phone.

Samatha

On Tuesday night I went to a meditation class! It's something that I have wanted to do for ages, but just never seemed to have the time. Anyways, I'm so glad that I did go. I feel better for it, even after just a few days. When we arrived at the course, the woman running the course mentioned a few of the reasons why people meditate. I related to so much that she was saying. I often find that my mind is just full and constantly darting from one thing to another, I want to do everything now, I want everything now and also I find it is easy to start thinking negative thoughts. Meditation is a way to free yourself of these. So, we'll see how it goes. After the class I went round to a friend's and we then went to a club, I had a fab night :)

Work work work

I have been such a busy boy this weekend; I have done 13 hours of extra work. That will be a nice little bit of spending money for me. I can go and buy myself some nice new clothes :)

Doing all this work means I'm missing everything on tv! To rectify this I am having Sky+ installed tomorrow. It lets you record easily without having to faffe arounf with a video, I can then get up to scratch again with EastEnders, Corrie and Hollyoaks......I'm a sad boy ;)

11 more nights until Szymon gets back..............................................................................

Windward

Ohhh, I'm in love. I'm happy, but I hate this feeling of vulnerabilty. The having to rely on another person, all of the turbulence that undoubtably lies ahead etc etc. Still, I shall follow the lines of this Mary Oliver poem, especially where she says a life without love is worthless. I guess if you live your life with love you never know what lies ahead, but you have to follow that path, because you know there's nothing else you can do or would even want to do. The bit of the poem I like the best is right at the end - when you feel the mist on your mouth and sense ahead the embattlement, the long falls plunging and steaming - then row, row for your life toward it.

Anyway, here it is:

West Wind #3
by Mary Oliver

You are young. So you know everything. You leap into the boat and begin rowing. But listen to me. Without fanfare, without embarrassment, without any doubt. I talk directly to your soul. Listen to me. Lift the oars from the water, let your arms rest, and your heart, and heart's little intelligence, and listen to me. There is life without love. It's not worth a bent penny, or a scuffed shoe. It's not worth the body of a dead dog nine days unburied. When you hear, a mile away and still out of sight, the churn of the water as it begins to swirl and roil, fretting around sharp rocks - when you hear that unmistakable pounding - when you feel the mist on your mouth and sense ahead the embattlement, the long falls plunging and steaming - then row, row for your life toward it.

So there you go, it's easy to live your life all planned out, but that's worth shite (or a rotting dead dog)live for love....I sound like Babara Cartland!

Wish me luck ;)

Soy camarero!

I've got an extra job! I'm doing waitering and bar work at the weekends and some evenings to get a little extra money. So far I have only worked one day, but I love it, you get to meet such a wide range of people. It's quite hard work, but the time just zooms by. The money is absolutely shite though :( Because I have to pay the full amout of tax. Still, at leat while I'm earning there I'm not spending money somewhere else. Now I must dash....I have a wedding to see to at 4!

I'm still here ;)

It has been ages again since I wrote here, which is very naughty of me. This weekend I am off to Manchester Pride. I'm looking forward to it, we're gonna stay there until next Tuesday, so it's like a mini holiday really. I'll hopefully take lots of pictures and put them up here. I am so skint at the moment lol! I am gonna have to be really good with my money when I'm in Manchester, which is why I'm about to nip into town now and buy a bottle of vodka and some red bulls so we can drink them in our room before we go out, so I won't have to spend so much once I'm out...how cheap of me :-p

Where's Estefania's blog?

It's gone, that's very naughty! You know how I like to keep tabs on you...Or maybe it was removed because it contained items of filth and vulgarity. Hmmmm I know that she gets up to all sorts that one, I bet that's what's happened!

I have had a good day, went to lunch with a friend and caught up on his latest escapades and also had a lovely quiche to eat that my next door neighbour brought round for me last night, it was very very yummy. I got a lot of work done this afternoon and also went back to the gym for the first time since before the holiday. So now I'm feeling nice and relaxed and it won't be long before I'm in bed. Tomorrow I am going to try and book hotels for Manchester Pride, which is coming up at the end of August. It's gonna be difficult though, as we wanna stay for 4 days and there are a lot of us going...and I'm skint :( Still, it's only money I suppose.

I'm Back!

Well, I'm back from Gran Canaria, it all passed by so quickly :( Still, I had an absolutely fab time. The weather was perfect, always around 28C and there was always a nice breeze too. The sun was very strong though, even with my factor 40 I still got a bit tanned lol! We became almost completely nocturnal when we were there, our day was like this: Sit by beach or pool from 2pm until about 7, shower and apply our aftersun and then go and eat. Then we'd sleep until about 11pm then go out around 11.30 until 6.30am the next morning! Was such a fab way of life, although don't know how long I could keep it up for. We are already planning our next visit, which I think will be sometime in October and we're gonna try and do 2 weeks!

Today I am back at work, although I haven't done much yet, I think I'm gonna wait until after coffee :)

I was catching up with my emails yesterday and I had this one from my brother, it simply read:
Sjr33 signing off!!
He has been made redundant after working there for over 15 years and my Granddad had worked there for 40 years before that. It made me cry. My Granddad will be turning in his grave!

Relaxing

This weekend has been cool. It's the first weekend in ages there hasn't been anything happening, so I've been able to just relax at home. Today has been really nice as the weather is fab too, so I have spent most of the day in the garden. I've been good though, I've done all my ironing and have caught up quite a bit with my French.

I went out on Friday night. I met Tracey's boy friend for the first time. He was really nice and we had a good evening going into various little village pubs, was quite quaint and very nice.

Next week is gonna be busy busy busy and then this time next week I will be mega excited as will be off to Gran Canaria eraly on the Monday morning yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Smudge. But look at the weeds...I need to do more gardening! Posted by Picasa

He Swears...

Last night was fab, was absolutely slaughtered though lol! And I had to walk home from the train station in Ely to my house, which is 3Km! I was feeling very sick on the train, thank goodness for relativity, the journey only seemed to take 30 seconds lol! Tracey can certainly outdrink me though, the last two pubs I was on halves while she was still on pints. This evening I am going to a birthday party in Ipswich which should be fun. Also this afternoon I'm going round to see a friend's new house, she has an honoury room for me there and she says it lush hmmmm I'm gonna live like a queen.

I'm not feeling too bad at all this morning after the drinking, here's a nice little poem to end my post. It's such a naughty little poem, I love it. It's by Cavafy, so I'm sure Stevette has the oringinal Greek....

He Swears

Every so often he swears to start a finer life.
But when night comes with its own counsels,
its compromises, and its promises;
but when night comes with its own vigour
of the body, craving and seeking, he returns,
forlorn, to the same fatal joy.

Mash...

It's Friday again, this week I have been lazy lazy lazy :( I put it down to the warm weather. I have done very little at work and absolutely no OU stuff at all. It's very bad as I have two assignments due next Wednesday and I haven't even started them yet! This weekend I'm busy being the social whore again, and therein lies the problem methinks lol! I do promise to myself that next week I will try harder. I have two work experience people with me all next week too, so I'll have to get them working as well ;)

This week has been very nice, the weather has been absolutely fantastic, I've even caught the sun a bit, so I don't look quite so pasty and gaunt. I had a bbq at my house on Sunday which was fab, I will put some photos up from it soon because we took 100s, especially as we became more drunk.

Tonight I'm going out with my friend Tracey. I had wanted to sit outside somewhere, but the weather has broken now and it's only just stopped raining...I'm an optimist though and the sun could come out again soon.

Quinze

It's almost the weekend again :) I kept my promise of last week and have worked my fingers to the bone all week. I now have a nice feeling of satisfaction lol!

Tonight I am going out with an old friend, we met up by chance a couple of weeks ago, it has beenalmost 15 years since we last saw each other, which is bad really as we have both been in Cambridge the whole time. We must have passed like ships in the night. Tonight should be good though :) I'll report back here soon...

No me canso...

...de esta jodida vida. In sharp contrast to last weekend this weekend was shite. All sorts of things and events were upsetting me. I'm not gonna write about them here, the memories of it can all just drift slowly away into oblivion lol! Today, however, I am feeling better and almost back to my normal self. Anyways, the bad happens so you appreciate the good, that's what I'm telling myself. And anyway, even when it's at its worst, you do still have to love it.

I kept to my promise of being a busy bee at work, I did loads and loads at work and was in the lab until gone 7!

Karaoke

Yay! It's Friday again :) This week does really seem to have flown by. I have still been so bloody lazy at work though, someone needs to give me a kick up the backside I think. I am making a promise to myself now, that from Monday morning first thing I am gonna work my fingers to the bone.

Last weekend was fab :) I went to Felixstowe on Friday night. Dean was having a visitor over from Australia, I've never met them before, but I'll use any excuse to go out and drink. I got to Felixstowe around 3 and Gail was still working, so I went to see Dean. It turns out he is now truly, madly, deeply, passionately, fan-dabi-doozibly in love :) And soon to be married! It is all very sweet actually, and I'm very happy for him. I spent 80 quid in the shop, it would have been more but I do still get my ex-boyfriend discount ;) When we got back to Gail's she had a bottle of champers in the fridge (she's fab!), we guzzled that in less than 30 mins, we really do have no class! We went for a chinese and then met the rest of them in the bar. The rest's a bit of a haze, I do remember at one point contemplating running naked into the sea, but was persuaded otherwise lol!

On Saturday I had arranged to meet a chap I'd met a couple of weeks earlier in a night club! Not always the best of ideas I know. So I was slightly apprehensive about meeting. In the end though, it turned out he was lovely and he stayed at mine until Monday morning (I know, slut!). We had a fab time and on Sunday night he even won some singing contest thing that could ultimately mean he gets to record something in London.

Monday night I performed my civic duty and was a first aider at an over 60's bbq...I didn't pull.

Tuesday I went out with the lovely and very, very popular Abhi. We played tennis (I was shite) and then had a meal with loads and loads of free drinkies. After that we went to a club until the wee small hours. Abhi is such a mover, I can't remember the last time I was bent over someone's knee so often...Salsa...I felt I was in Latin America.

I bought a new monitor. The old one was a crt monitor and very bad for the environment. That was all the excuse I needed to convince myself to buy it! And don't you just love the picture of Rufus. God, I wish I looked like that; although on second thoughts, probably for the best I don't, I'd be even more of a slag! Posted by Hello

On Tuesday I did a little gardening, my neighbours gave me some small plants and here are some of them I planted. I hope they live. Posted by Hello

How time flies...

Gosh, it's been ages since I have written anything here. Lots has been happening as well, all good but nothing ground breaking lol! It reminds me actually of a programme on Radio 4 that I was listening to recently. It was some song writers talking about various songs they had written (as you'd expect lol). One of the song writers was asked why her songs were often about heartache and such like. She replied that the reason she didn't write happy songs was because when she was happy and life was good she had far better things to do than sit and write happy songs, she was out there living the life and being happy. So maybe it's the same with this blog! So if you see me start to write 1000 words a day in this blog send me chocolate and other gifts to cheer me up!

I have tomorrow off work, and I shall be doing absolutely nada. Well, apart from pamper myself with dvds and phish food.

Hasta luego!

The Pub

I've just realised how long it's been since I have written here, how naughty of me! So here I am back again. It's been a busy week and a bit and I have been up to loads, all good I'm glad to say, apart from on my wallet!

Last week my friend Adam came to stay, we were good boys though and stayed in and just relaxed really, which makes a change, normally when he visits we go out into town, drink loads, eat like pigs and behave like sluts.

On the Saturday I went to Felixstowe and we went to The Fox, it was a fab night and I got absolutely plastered! I was a bit of a rascal too and ended up going outside with a boy. My friends tell me that he wasn't a minger, so I am redeamed slightly. He is an actor and I thought he was very lovely. He is going to visit Cambridge in a few weeks, so I shall maybe write about him again...

So far this week I have just been relaxing and recovering from the excesses of the weekend. This weekend coming I am off to Maidstone to visit my friend Andrew (who's straight, so I shalln't make up a girl's name for him, although I'm tempted).

Bank Holiday

Yay! We've got a nice long weekend! Although so far today I've done my washing and slept...that's all! I had such a late night last night though. Some friends came to stay, it was nice and warm in the evening and we were able to sit in the garden sipping G&Ts :) We then went on into Ely and got completely hammered! Was a fab night and there's a picture below this of me and Gina :)

Tonight I'm off to Dot Cotton Club in Cambridge, I'm gonna drive though, so no drinking which is a good thing.

I have been so lazy this weekend, I haven't shaved since Friday. I tried to take a picture of myself looking oh so manly with my 3 days of growth. Taking a picture of yourself isn't as easy (although it is as sad) as you think. Posted by Hello

Hace bueno...

This morning the weather was absolutely beautiful, I even rummaged around in the garage and found my deck chair! So I spent most of this morning in the garden, it was almost warm enough for shorts. I did a bit of my OU stuff, I have to hand another assignment in for the 4th of May. I think I'm more or less done on them now though. I am gonna try and get everything done and sent off by Wednesday. Then I can relax, especially as it's gonna be a holiday weekend and the last thing I want is college work hanging over me!

I have to say a little bit here about one of my dear dear friends, Ginger Rogers I'm gonna call her; we were sat in this lovely little pub on Friday evening after the last day of a symposium where I'd overdosed on caffeine (so had a bloody headache from hell, so wasn't gonna get pissed, anyway, that's beside the point). I was telling her about my last set of marks for my French and Spanish assignments (and I'll repeat them here for anyone who doesn't know NINETY EIGHT percent lol! And I know, I'm due a fall). She replied completely spontaneously ' God, they must be really easy assignments'. With friends like that...

Bad buffer...

Well, not a very productive day today :( This morning at work was ok, a got a bit done, not very much, but better than nothing. Then this afternoon, I started a really big job, but the solutions (buffers, hence title) were made up incorrectly (by me) and the whole experiment failed, sometimes I hate science lol!

I went to the gym at lunch time and did a fair but of cardio, burnt 300 calories according to the machine. I need to change my music I think, I'm getting a bit bored with my stuff at the moment. If only I were rich and could afford an iPod :(

Tomorrow I have a friend coming over for tea, I'm gonna open a nice bottle of wine I think, even though I am meant to be on the wagon. I won't have too much though, it's work the next day :(

Tutorial

The weekend is nearly over, which is such a bummer, I could well do with having tomorrow off too lol! Just lounging around at home, just doing whatever you please is wonderful, and so cheap too :)

Yesterday I did have a French Tutorial. I was a bit nervous because we have a new tutor. She turned out to be really nice though. She used French nearly the whole time, which was a bit daunting, but in the end I think it was good. We practiced loads of stuff and I am now quite happy with the passé composé lol!

In the afternoon I went into Fanny Craddock mode! I made a lovely cherry and almond loaf cake! It is very tasty actually, although something went wrong with the cherries and they all appear to have sunk to the bottom :-/ I shall take it into work tomorrow and see what they think! The preparation of the cake was extremely hard work; the creaming of the sugar and butter was very tiring, it's a good job I'm a fit boy with a strong wrist!

Today I have done sweet Fanny Adams! It's been fab though. I did speak to my girl friend Stephanie ;-) who has deserted me for deepest darkest Japan. And also another beautiful girl Macie, we are gonna go camping. Hopefully in the middle of a wood :) Should be fun!

Election

The general election is set for the 5th May. I will have to try and sort out my polling card as I think it will get send to my old house. I'm definately gonna vote Lib Dem again. I'm a lot more anti labour now than I used to be, especially after all the lying from the Gulf war. And of course I can't stand the Conservatives. Looking at the most recent polls, it looks like the Conservatives are gaining on Labour, so I guess at least it will be quite an interesting election.

Rain again

It's raining again today :( Still, it was a lovely weekend. I was driving back from Felixstowe yesterday and I notiched it was nearly 18C! Spring at last I thought!

I had a lovely weekend, although I drank too much during Saturday and had a bloody banging headache all through the night. For the weekend I had gone to stay with Gail. I had so much stuff to do at home on Saturday morning that I was late getting to hers, it was 4.40pm when I arrived at the salon! She was as eager as ever to go off for some wine, so I dashed in to say hello to Dean and then we shot off to the Alex :) Rush rush rush, we only had time for one in there as Kim was coming round at 6 and then we all had a table booked for dinner at 7! I know, very early, but we are all pissheads and the sooner we'd eaten the sooner we could start drinking proper lol!

It's only been a few weeks since I last saw Gail, but so much has been happening with her, she's bought a new house and is (possibly/probably) back with her ex! Dean came out with us in the evening, earlier Gail had been asking me if there was any possibility that we might get back together, I said no I didn't think so. That evening though, he did look so nice and he did say some lovely things. But I just don't think it would work, and anyway, I'm a hardened singleton these days. We ended up at a 30th birthday party, but I was being good by then and was on the water! I was such a lighthweight and had no energy, I should have had some red bull or something. The bloke who's party it was did seem quite nice, although I'm sure I look younger than him lol!

Sunday morning we had a lovely fry up, a lovely proper brunch. Although before that Gail's son had insisted I had a go on this trampoline they have in the garden, that made me feel very sick.

Attention all shipping...

Today is going to be a slow day I think, loads of very boring jobs to do. I am also going ten pin bowling straight after work, which means I have to stay here an hour and a half later than usual! Still at least I will be able to get up to date with everything. I can catch up on my french too.

Last night I went for tea round my brother's and I was talking to R and for some reason we got onto the subject of the bloody shipping forcast. It turns out her brother had bought her a book Attention All Shipping. There really is something quite therapeutic about it. And of course there's the preceding Sailing By...
